The group of friends I have on facebook are random, crazy, awesome, and supportive. Gen-Y has really taken to the social sites that have become available in recent years. I have no myspace or twitter, just a facebook because of the massive amount of people on their. My group of friends use it to keep in touch from different schools, post pictures of crazy parties or just random nights. The conversations people have or comments left on pictures will have me laughing as hard as I can whenever I read them.
It is a great tool to keep college connections close, and also look up people you have meet before. More recently, I have discovered the networking capabilities of Facebook when I was invited to a group which consisted of my high school classmates. The group is used so people can tell each other big news, but also for internship oppurtunities and job postings. I got a job for the summer through a classmate who posted an oppurtunity on the wall of this group. This site has not only kept me in contact with my friends, but also got me a job I probably would not have known about before.
